Photographic image design begins there, where intervals of pixels are carefully placed next to each other. This can be done by specific recording techniques or by subsequent image processing. I claim the freedom to move those intervals where they are needed in my view. Therefore my pictures are often different from their erstwhile reality. By manipulating the pixel intervals I leave often the former reality of the underlying images.

This creates surreal imagery and new fictional spaces, new image wise realities. Thereby I can give the pictures a deeper symbolic content or by the elevation of the proposition a completely different reality. Many of my works are, of course, digitally processed, but not all. I see in my photographs that I take with my camera an ideal raw material for new works.
